Running out the door with wet hair? Again?
Me too!
I don’t know about you, but having extra time in the morning to get ready for work is a rarity for me. Having chronic illness sometimes means trouble falling asleep, not sleeping well, and waking up late as a result.
With this handy little time saver of a trick will save your arms (from having to hold up a hair dryer), energy, and time.
I learned this trick from my good friend Megan. She does this almost every morning on her way to work. When I found out about it, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t thought of it before.
Setting up your new “hair dryer”
Grab your car keys, and go out to your car. Start your car if it’s parked safely outside. (Please don’t do this in your garage!) If you keep your car in a garage, you can make small adjustments when stopped at the end of your driveway, or at a stoplight. Please exercise caution and pay attention to your surroundings and don’t do this while driving.
Turn your heat or A/C on, depending on what temperature would be comfortable for this short run through.
Choose the upper vents option on your heating or air conditioning system. You know, the face vents.
We’re going for easy, breezy, beautiful vibes here people.
Start by adjusting the dash vent on your left side. This may take some trial and error, but stick with it and you’ll find the perfect spot. You want to aim it so that it is blowing on the hair that’s on the left side of your head.
Do the same adjustment for the dash vent on the right side, aiming it to blow on the hair on the right side of your head. Now, you’ve got a built-in-no-hands hair dryer!
The best part, is everyone that rides in a car in either front seat has these vents. Every car has them. So even if you’re riding with someone, you can still dry your hair on the way.
I spend so many mornings running out of the house with no time to spare. The last thing I want is to show up for work looking like I just stepped out of the shower.
We all know I did just that minutes before, but it’s the illusion of taking the time to dry your hair without having to spend precious energy to do it that makes this genius.
Thank you Megan!
